Cruise

The cruise was relatively simple to get working. I did not have to wire anything - I used the existing wiring on the truck.

There are two types of cruise that came on the 2nd generation 4runner. One was a vacuum type and was located on the driver side inner fender, and the other was a servo motor type that was located on the passenger side inner fender.

I have the servo motor type and was able to leave it in the original location. To get the factory 3.0 cable to connect to the 3.4 throttle body I had to do two things.

The first thing that I had to do was file the ball on the throttle body end of the cable to connect it. The second thing was to remove the mount for the cable and move it closer. This means that it will only connect with one bolt and will rest on the idle screw.

After these "adjustments", the cruise worked flawlessly!
